WOYWW 151 – Especially for you

Er wordt gezegd dat, na donderdag, in Nederland de lente gaat beginnen, maar eigenlijk maakt het mij niet veel uit.... Hier, met alle WOYWW crafters samen, schijnt vandaag al de zon. Welkom op deze creatieve woensdag - de dag dat je je eigen bureaublad kunt laten zien en vertellen waarmee je bezig bent. Voordat ik een foto van mijn werkblad laat zien wil ik eerst diegenen bedanken die vorige week zo'n geweldige reacties op mijn blog hebben achter gelaten. Helaas is het mij niet gelukt om al deze lieve reacties te beantwoorden, maar deze week ga ik een nieuwe poging doen :-)

Before I show you my desk this week I want to say thank you for all the wonderful and lovely reactions I’ve received last week. I’m sorry I didn’t manage to see all your desks too, I'll try to do a better job this week :-)

Vandaag is op mijn werkblad een kaart te zien die ik heb gemaakt voor mijn tante. A.s. vrijdag hoopt zij haar 90st verjaardag te vieren. Voor mij een goede reden om een heel speciale kaart voor haar te maken. Het enige dat nog aan deze kaart moet worden gedaan is het schrijven van een verjaardagswens en die erin plakken.



On my desk today you can see a card I’ve made for my dear aunt. Next Friday she will celebrate her 90th birthday. The perfect reason to make a very special card for her. The only thing I have to left is to write a birthday wish for her and stick it inside the card.

Om deze kaart te maken heb ik gebruik gemaakt van een voorbeeld dat ik vond in een Nederlands kaart- magazine. Verder wilde ik de kaart zo lieflijk mogelijk maken en veel bloemen en kant gebruiken. Dit is niet mijn normale stijl, maar na uren proberen, schuiven en veranderen vond ik de goede balans voor al deze extra's. De stempelafdruk van Magnolia is ingekleurd met Derwent Coloursoft potloden en reukloze terpentine.

For this card I used a pattern I found in a Dutch card making magazine. This card has to be as sweet as possible, covered with lots of flowers and lace. It's not my normal way of working, but after hours of trying, moving and changing I think I’ve found the right balance. The Magnolia is coloured with Derwent Coloursoft Pencils and Sensodor.

In de binnenkant van deze kaart zijn allerlei verschillende theekopjes met schoteltjes te vinden omdat mijn tante het heerlijk vindt om gezellig een kopje thee te drinken. Deze theekopjes en -schoteltjes zijn gestempeld op verschillende patronen dessin papier en daarna boven op elkaar 'gestapeld' - een niet echt eenvoudige klus (alhoewel het wel zo lijkt). De stempel die ik hiervoor heb gebruikt is een gratis stempel van het blad Craft Stamper.

The inside card is filled with lots of tea cups as my aunt loves drinking tea and she has all sorts of tea cups in her cupboard I think. The tea cups are stamped on different sorts of design paper and all stacked up in a pile – not as easy as it looks like (LOL). The tea cup stamp I’ve used is a free stamp from Craft Stamper Magazine.

Aan het einde van dit bericht wil ik graag mijn vier nieuwe volgsters Rita, Janny, Pauline en Henny welkom heten. Ik hoop dat jullie mijn projecten mooi vinden en er je er wat inspiratie uit kunt halen.

WOYWW 150 – Art Specially, Zeist

Welkom op deze inspirerende woensdag  en ik hoop dat jullie net zo'n creatieve week achter de rug hebben als ik. Afgelopen weekend ben ik naar de stempelbeurs Art Specially in Zeist geweest waar ik twee andere, zeer getalenteerde, WOYWW stempelaarsters heb ontmoet. Dit zijn Sarah en Marleen en de grote verrassing was dat Sarah onze WOYWW buttons meebracht uit Groot Brittannie. Julia, heel erg bedankt voor onze buttons en hier volgt een foto van ons alle drie met buttons en een 'big smile'.

Well, hello and welcome to this new inspirational Wednesday and I hope you have had just as creative a week as I’ve had. Las weekend I went to the great stamp show in Zeist, the Netherlands and here I met two other talented WOYWW stampers, Sarah and Marleen. And what a big surprise… Sarah brings along our WOYWW buttons for us! Thank you Julia for these buttons and here is a picture with the three of us – big smile and all wearing our own button.

Maar dat was afgelopen weekend. Nu weer terug naar mijn kamer met mijn eigen bureaublad. En ja... mijn bureaublad is schoon en leeg en niet interessant genoeg voor een foto, dus vandaar alleen een foto van mijn WOYWW button. De laatste twee weken ben ik voortdurend bezig geweest met het maken van een aantal projecten die op de stempelbeurs te zien zijn geweest. Maar ja, alle andere huishoudelijke taken zijn blijven liggen, dus die komen deze week weer aan de beurt. Dat betekend voor deze week minder craften en meer schoonmaken L

That was last weekend, now back to my own craft room and desk. And yes, it’s empty and freshly cleaned and not interesting enough to make a picture of it. That's why I show you my WOYWW button only.  In the last two weeks I’ve worked on some projects which were shown at the stamp show, so all my household tasks had to wait until this week. That means less crafting and more cleaning L

Maar zoals ik jullie vorige week heb beloofd laat ik in dit blognieuws de projecten zien die ik heb gemaakt voor Treasure Crafts in Zeist. Al deze projecten zijn gemaakt met de stempelset Fawn & Flora van Hobby Art. 

Op deze eerste foto zijn drie kleine kaartjes te zien. Ik wilde ze graag zo eenvoudig mogelijk houden, zodat ze goed in één middag te maken zijn. Het middelste kaartje is ingekleurd met Derwent Coloursoft potloden, terwijl de andere twee gekleurd zijn met Derwent Inktense potloden. Met een paar eenvoudige embellishments heb ik deze kaarten afgewerkt.

But as I promised you all last week I'm sharing the pictures of my projects I’ve made for Treasure Crafts in Zeist. All these projects were made with the Fawn & Flora stamp set by Hobby Art. On the first picture you can see three small cards. I wanted to make them as simple as possible so you can finish them in one afternoon. The one in the middle is coloured with Derwent Coloursoft pencils and the other two with Derwent Inktense pencils. Just some small embellishments and the cards are all finished.

Het laatste project is een book card. De bedoeling van deze kaart was om hem zo dromerig en zacht gekleurd mogelijk te maken. Wanneer je deze kaart opent moet je het gevoel krijgen alsof je zo een klein sprookje binnen wandelt.

The last project is a book card. I wanted to make it as sweet and soft as I could with the idea of creating a fairytale feeling when you open it.

Op de voorkant heb ik een hek gebruikt en wanneer je dit hek opent kom je in een klein sprookjesbos, gevuld met allemaal schattige dieren en zachte kleuren. Al deze stempelafdrukken zijn ingekleurd met Derwent Inktense potloden en het papier is van Basic Grey - Wisteria.

In the front I’ve used a gate and when you open ‘this gate’ you arrive in a small fairy wood with all these lovely animals and soft colours. All these stamps are coloured with Derwent Inktense pencils and the papers are from Basic Grey – Wisteria.

Ik hoop dat iedereen die Art Specially heeft bezocht net zo heeft genoten als ik. Maar heb je daar nog niet voldoende inspiratie opgedaan, op Julia's blog is nog meer inspiratie te vinden. WOYWW 149 - Fawn & Flora

Na een heel drukke week kan ik jullie eindelijk weer eens een close-up van mijn bureaublad maken. Nog steeds ben ik druk aan de slag met een paar 'secret projects', maar het is nu tijd om toch een glimp hiervan te laten zien.

After a very busy week I can now show you a close-up of my desk. I’m still working on some secret projects, but I want to show you a glimpse of what I’m creating.

Het volgende weekend is, zoals velen van jullie weten, de grote stempelbeurs 'Art Specially' in Zeist. En op deze beurs zullen al deze projecten te zien zijn bij de stand van Treasure Crafts. De stempels die ik voor deze projecten heb gebruikt zijn natuurlijk bij Treasure Crafts te koop, net als nog veel meer prachtige spulletjes. Dus wanneer je de mogelijkheid hebt, kom naar Zeist en misschien zien we elkaar daar.

Next weekend there is the big stamp show, 'Art Specially' in Zeist, the Netherlands, and you'll be able to see all of these projects on the Treasure Crafts stand. The stamps I’ve used for my projects can also be bought there and, of course, many more yummie things. So if you have the chance to come, maybe I'll see you there.

Maar lukt het niet om naar deze beurs te komen, don't worry. De volgende week zullen al deze projecten te zien zijn op mijn WOYWW bureaublad. WOYWW 147 – Scandinavian goodies and more…

Goed, wat kan ik zeggen na twee weken vakantie en één week ziek...? Blij dat ik weer terug ben. Maar voordat ik met mijn werkplek begin wil ik eerst Sarah heel erg bedanken dat ze mij koos bij haar My Mojo Monthly Challenge van afgelopen maand. Ik las 't vorige week toen ik terug kwam van vakantie en ik moet zeggen... ik ben toch wel trots. In ieder geval hangt mijn Love door hanger nu op een deur in de woonkamer J

Well, what can I say after two weeks holiday and one week feeling unwell…? I'm glad I’m back again. But before I start with my desk I just want to say thanks Sarah for choosing me as the winner of the My Mojo Monthly challenge last month. I found out when I came back home last week and I must say… I feel very proud!  My Love door hanger is hanging in the living room now J

Dit is mijn werkblad van deze woensdag. Het enige wat je erop ziet zijn mijn gekochte spulletjes uit Oslo, Noorwegen. Voordat we op vakantie gingen las ik, in het laatste Magnolia magazine, over een winkel 'Bikuben' in Strømmen, net buiten Oslo. En omdat onze cruiseferry in Oslo zou aanleggen wilde ik uitzoeken of deze winkel niet te ver van onze reisroute af zou liggen. En ja hoor.... voor een bezoek aan de winkel zouden we niet ver om hoeven rijden. Lucky me!!!

This is my desk this Wednesday. Just a lot of goodies I bought in Oslo, Norway. Before we went on holiday I found an article in the last Magnolia magazine  about the shop ‘Bikuben’ in Strømmen, just outside Oslo. As our cruise ferry arrives in Oslo I wanted to find out if the shop was on our road. And yes… after a little research I found out it was. Lucky me!!!

De winkel in Oslo is vrij nieuw en is een eldorado voor scrappers en stempelaars. Ik heb hier heerlijk 2 uur kunnen rondsnuffelen, dankzij een heel geduldige Jan xxx, en nog heb ik niet alles kunnen zien. En natuurlijk wilde ik jullie een glimp van deze winkel niet onthouden.

The shop is pretty new and it’s a heavenly place for scrappers and stampers. I spend two hours there – thanks for such a patient hubby xxx - and didn’t see everything. Here you see a glimpse of the shop.

Ik was hoofdzakelijk geinteresseerd in materialen uit Scandinavie, zoals papier en stempels en hier zie je schitterend designpapier van PionDesign. De kleuren van dit papier zijn heel zacht, de prints zeer gedetailleerd en er zijn vier verschillende designs op één vel. Ideaal voor iemand als ik die veel kleine projecten maakt.

I was especially interested in the Scandinavian materials such as papers and stamps. Here you can see some beautiful papers from Pion Design. The colours are very beautiful and soft, the prints are so detailed and there are four different designs on one piece. Just perfect when you like to make smaller pieces.

Maar nu weer terug naar thuis. Op dit moment ben ik bezig met een aantal secret projects. Het enige wat ik kan laten zien zijn enkele losse materialen, maar binnen 4 weken hoop ik deze complete projecten te kunnen laten zien. Tot dan... druk, druk, druk.

But now back home. At this moment I’m working on some secret projects. I only can show you these loose materials but within a few weeks I hope to show you the complete projects. Until then…busy, busy, busy.

Dat is het weer voor nu. Ik hoop dat je een heleboel inspiratie kunt opdoen vandaag.

WOYWW 142 – A Love Door hanger

Goed, weer een nieuwe woensdag, dus tijd voor nieuwe projecten en een nieuw bureaublad. Maar voordat ik daarmee begin wil ik eerst Lavinia, Lisa en Sandee van harte welkom heten. Ik hoop dat jullie mijn projecten leuk vinden en misschien wat inspiratie kunnen opdoen.

Well, another Wednesday again, so time for new projects and a new desk. But firstly I want to give a warm welcome to my new followers Lavinia, Lisa and Sandee. Hope you like my projects and maybe you'll pick up some inspiration too.

En ja.... mijn knutselplek is nog steeds op een warmer plekje in onze woning. Maar eigenlijk vind ik het niet echt vervelend, omdat het veel gezelliger is in de woonkamer J. Op mijn bureaublad van vandaag zijn verschillende dingen te vinden. Zo zie je een stempelafdruk die ik nog wil gaan inkleuren. Daarnaast ben ik een book card aan het voorbereiden. Meestal maak ik van nieuwe projecten eerst een proef, voordat ik het echte, goede papier ga gebruiken.

And yes… my work desk is still residing in a warmer place of the house. But I don’t mind, because it’s so much cosier to sit and craft in the living room J. On my desk you find all sort of things. I want to colour another stamp – see the girl with the tea party. I’m also preparing a book card. Mostly I do a try-out before I use my real papers, so that’s the point where 'm right now.

Verder wil ik jullie graag iets heel anders laten zien... mijn Love door hanger. Ik wilde eens iets compleet anders gaan proberen, dus dook ik in mijn oudere Craft Stampers. Hier koos ik een project dat ging over werken met oude bladzijdes uit een boek. En terwijl ik aan het denken was wat ik hiermee wilde maken - op Valentijnsdag - besloot ik dat het iets moest worden met hartjes en liefde. "En misschien is het wel goed genoeg om dit project mee te laten doen aan de challenge van My Mojo Monthly February - Heartstrings", dacht ik.

But I want you to show something different… my Love door hanger. I wanted to try something completely different, so I took one of my older CS magazine and chose the article about using old book pages. Whilst I was thinking about the subject – on Valentine’s day – I decided it has to do something with hearts and love. “Maybe if it’s good enough I'd like to enter it for My Mojo Monthly February- Heartstrings”, I thought.

Dus dat was de reden dat ik dit project startte op Valentijnsdag, geen idee hebbende waar dit zou eindigen... MMM of in de prullenbak (LOL). Voor de achtergrond heb ik een overgebleven achterkant van een schrijfblok gebruikt, want het gaat bij deze challenge om recycled en waardeloze materialen. Eerst heb ik dit karton beplakt met pagina's uit een oud boek - ook waardeloze, oude materialen. Toen dit droog was heb ik drie kleuren Distress Inkt (Antique Linen, Victorian Velvet and Aged Mahogany) en de Tim Holtz Wrinkle-Free techniek gebruikt om de achtergrond een kleur te geven. Voor de afwerking gebruikte ik een swirl stempel en een template met gaatjes.

So, that was the reason I started this journey on Valentine’s day, with absolutely no idea where this project would end...  MMM or in the recycle bin (LOL). For the background I used some old cardboard that was the back side of a writing pad – it had to be shabby. I first covered the cardboard with some old book pages,  shabby stuff too. When it was dry I used three colours of Distress Ink (Antique Linen, Victorian Velvet and Aged Mahogany) and Tim's Wrinkle-Free technique to colour the backgrounds. To finish off, I used some swirl stamps and a template.

Op de bovenste achtergrond zie je verder een rozen stempel van Lavinia. Op de onderste achtergrond heb ik een hartstempel van Tim Holtz gebruikt. De twee stellen zijn gestempeld op een paint - washed pagina van een boek. Deze bladzijde heb ik eerst op een dunner stukje karton geplakt - van een gebruikt maaltijdpakket!
Om de door hanger af te maken gebruikte ik de kartonnen letters LOVE, die ik ook beplakte met gekleurde, oude pagina´s uit een boek.

On the upper background you can also see a rose stamp. For the lower background I’ve used a TH heart stamp. The two couples are stamped on a paint-washed book page which I’ve pasted onto a thinner cardboard – some old food package! To finish this door hanger, I used the cardboard letters LOVE, which I covered with coloured old book pages too.

Uiteindelijk moest mijn project nog wat meer romantiek uitstralen. Dit heb ik proberen te bereiken door wat roosjes, lint, kant en een klein glittersteentje toe te voegen. Toen ik eindelijk tevreden was besloot ik dat deze ´Love -ly´ Door hanger mee gaat doen aan de challenge van Sarah´s My Mojo Monthly.

I felt I needed to make my project a little bit more romantic. When I added some roses, lace, ribbon and a small sparkle stone, I think it gave all the backgrounds that final touch. On that note, I felt happy to share it with all of you and this 'Love-ly' Door Hanger is now my entry for Sarah's My Mojo Monthly.

Dat is het dan voor vandaag. Ik ga gauw verder, omdat ik graag wil zien wat andere crafters vandaag voor moois op hun werkblad hebben. Dus...

WOYWW 141 – Love is in the little things

Goed, voordat ik het over mijn bureaublad ga hebben wil ik eerst iedereen bedanken voor de geweldige reacties die zijn achter gelaten bij mijn vorige blog post. Hierdoor krijg ik nog meer motivatie om door te gaan  met het leerproces van inkleuren. Je moet nl. heel veel oefenen voor de beste resultaten... en soms wil je dat het leerproces een stukje sneller gaat. Maar dat over afgelopen woensdag. Wat is er deze woensdag te zien?

Well… before I show you my desk I want to say thanks for all the lovely reactions everyone left on my last blog post. They motivate me to go further with the learning process about colouring. You must practise a lot to get the best results but sometimes…. you just want the learning curve to go a lot faster. Anyway, that was last Wednesday. What about this Wednesday?

Misschien dat een aantal van jullie een ander bureaublad opmerken dan vorige week... en dat klopt. Ik heb tijdelijk een andere warmere, werkplek moeten zoeken in huis, nl. de zitkamer. In mijn werkkamer is het momenteel te koud om te werken. Na een tijdje ben je helemaal bevroren (incl, mijn hersenen - LOL)


Some of you may have spotted a different work desk to usual. That's right… I've had to move to another warmer place in the house – the living room. In my craft room the temperature is too low to sit and craft for a couple of hours, unless you want to end up frozen right through (incl. your brains – LOL)

Op mijn werkblad van deze week vind je het cadeau dat ik heb gekregen voor mijn verjaardag. Een heerlijk grote doos met alle kleuren Derwent Inktense kleurpotloden. Geweldig, maar... het zijn er zo veel dat ik eerst een kleurenkaart wil maken voordat ik er goed mee aan de slag kan J 


On my work desk you can see my birthday present my hubby gave me last week. He saw how much I enjoyed the colouring, so when we were in town he bought me this beautiful wooden box full of Inktense Pencils. I’m really thankful for this! But now there are so many pencils I have to make a colour chart, otherwise I won't know which colour I need to use! J That’s the first job to do before I can use these new ones.

Ondertussen heb ik wel mijn LOTV kaart afgemaakt. In mijn vorige blog post heb ik laten zien dat ik de jongen van deze stempel aan het inkleuren was. Nu is het inkleuren van de jongen en het meisje afgerond, incl. de kaart.

In the meantime I’ve finished my LOTV card. In my last blog news I’ve showed you the boy that I was colouring. Now I’ve finished both the boy and girl and completed the whole card.

In deze kaart zit een kleine nis, waarin ik het meisje heb geplakt. Eerst heb ik de kaart en de nis apart gemaakt, waarna ik het Basic Grey dessinpapier erop heb geplakt. Daarna zijn de stempelafdrukken, bloemetjes en lint toegevoegd. Tot slot heb ik de aparte onderdelen aan elkaar gemaakt.

This card has a small niche where the girl sits in. First I made the card and the niche, which I covered with  Basic Grey design paper. I then put the stamps on my card and added some flowers and ribbon. Finally I put the separate elements together to complete the whole card.

Deze kaart wil ik laten meedoen met de challenge van Simon Says Stamp - Love is in the air. Het is niet de traditionele zoete, roze liefdeskaart, maar ik denk dat deze kaart voor zich spreekt.

I want to enter this card into the challenge at Simon Says Stamp – Love is in the air. It‘s not a traditional, overly very sweet and pink card, but I do think this one tells us more than enough.

WOYWW 140 – New materials …

Tja, het is weer woensdag... tijd voor een nieuwe WOYWW. Ik ben weer heel blij terug te zijn in 'blogland' na een periode dat alles anders lijkt te moeten gaan dan je zou hebben verwacht... met als resultaat dat er weinig tot geen tijd overbleef om te stempelen. Maar dat is nu verleden tijd en vandaag wil ik jullie mijn bureaublad laten zien met wat nieuwe materialen.

Well, it’s Wednesday again… time for a new WOYWW. I’m so glad to be back with you again after a period of 'everything not quite going the way I had expected'... which resulted in no crafting time at all. But that’s the past and today I want to show you my work desk with some new stuff.

Kijk je wat beter op mijn bureaublad, dan ontdek je vast mijn nieuwe potloden... Derwent Inktense Pencils. Deze geweldige doos met 12 potloden was een kerstcadeautje waarmee ik erg in mijn nopjes ben. Ik had al verschillende pogingen gewaagd om stempelafdrukken in te kleuren met Distress Inkt, maar ik was eigenlijk nooit echt helemaal tevreden met het resultaat. Nadat ik zo'n twee weken had gewerkt met deze Inktense potloden had ik al het gevoel ze wat meer onder controle te hebben. If you take a closer look you discover some new pencils… Derwent Inktense Pencils. This lovely box with 12 Pencils was a Christmas present from my hubby and I’m really pleased with it. I’ve tried to colour all sorts of stamps with Distress Ink, but the results weren’t what I expected. After working, for about two weeks, with these ones I feel I’ve got them a little more under control. Here you see a LOTV stamp I've coloured with them.

En hoor ik jullie denken, maar 12 kleuren? Het goede nieuws is dat je altijd een groter aantal kleuren kunt kopen (natuurlijk), maar je kunt de kleuren ook zelf ook mengen zodat er nieuwe kleuren ontstaan (een veel goedkopere optie). En voor die moeilijke huidskleur? Hiervoor heb ik twee kleuren gemengd waardoor ik precies de kleur kreeg die ik zocht.

Een ander groot voordeel is dat, wanneer de eerste aangebrachte kleurlaag volledig is opgedroogd, je er een tweede laag gewoon overheen kunt zetten. Deze laag zal je eerste laag niet veranderen of in het ergste geval verknoeien.

And maybe I hear you thinking, just 12 colours? But the good news about these pencils is, you can buy bigger boxes (of course) or mix the colours by yourself. This works out much cheaper, especially when you need the right colour for shading skin. I’ve mixed two colours and achieved the right tone. Another great thing is that when your first layer has dried you can put a second layer over the first one without changing it. That means that when you are happy with you first layer you can’t spoil it with your second layer.
