WOYWW 151 – Especially for you

In the Netherlands they say that Spring begins after Thursday, but I don’t care…. Here, together with all you fellow WOYWW, the sun is shining today. Welcome to this crafty Wednesday – the day on which we can show our work desk and tell everyone what we are doing. If you'd want to know more about this, follow this WOYWW link to join in at Julia’s blog.

Before I show you my desk this week I want to say thank you for all the wonderful and lovely reactions I’ve received last week. I’m sorry I didn’t manage to see all your desks too, I'll try to do a better job this week :-)

On my desk today you can see a card I’ve made for my dear aunt. Next Friday she will celebrate her 90th birthday. The perfect reason to make a very special card for her. The only thing I have to left is to write a birthday wish for her and stick it inside the card.

For this card I used a pattern I found in a Dutch card making magazine. This card has to be as sweet as possible, covered with lots of flowers and lace. It's not my normal way of working, but after hours of trying, moving and changing I think I’ve found the right balance. The Magnolia is coloured with Derwent Coloursoft Pencils and Sensodor.

The inside card is filled with lots of tea cups as my aunt loves drinking tea and she has all sorts of tea cups in her cupboard I think. The tea cups are stamped on different sorts of design paper and all stacked up in a pile – not as easy as it looks like (LOL). The tea cup stamp I’ve used is a free stamp from Craft Stamper Magazine.

Have a happy and crafty Wednesday
xFranka

As I end my post I just want to give a warm welcome to my four new followers Rita, Janny, Pauline and Henny. I hope you will enjoy and feel inspired by the projects on my blog today!
That’s it for today. I'm off to grap a cuppa now and find out what all your desks have to say...

Have a happy and crafty Wednesday.

I think you have the balance just right on that card - sweet but not too much! The flowers and other bits and bobs are just right, any more would have been overpowering, I think.
I love that expression about Spring starting after Thursday! Never heard that one before...mind you, it feels like winter right now in the UK :)

Ah Franka, its a lovely card, and you probably enjoyed working outside of your 'normal' way too - I love the little clutch of embellishments with the book paper. I can't believe you can achieve all that on a card and not even have so much as a scrap of tape on your desk -honestly, your cutting mat is the cleanest I've ever seen!

Sarah zei

Hi Franka - good to see a new post and another lovely card...love that card design and the tea cups look just fabulous on the design papers. It is cold wet and grey here - no Spring at all...you might need to make that quilt and wear it ! Enjoy the show and be nice to your bank account...! Tot gauw. Have a creative week and happy WOYWWing... Sarah

That is such a beautiful card that you made for your aunt. I am glad you showed us the inside of it so we could see your stunning artwork there too, but also so we could see how the front of the card opened. I see it isn't a full front, but a half card with a panel sticking up. That is very nice because it is different and you can still see the lovely roses in the corner when the card is open. I love all the little details on your card. Thanks for sharing.
