WOYWW 159 – Fabric virus???

Waar was afgelopen week?

Where has this week gone to? Time flies, especially in summer. A lot of things had to be done and here, in our house, it looks like there is a ‘tidy up’ virus on the loose! In my craft room too. After finishing my laptop bag…(Sorry I didn’t have any time to take some nice pictures) I now need to sort out all my quilt fabrics. On my desk this week you’ll see all sorts of fabric wait to be ironed J

That means that every single piece has to be ironed and folded up into different sizes and stored in a box. Yesterday I was ironing all afternoon and there are still some pieces waiting to be done.

And here you can see the finished pieces in the box, all sorted out into colours. I'm hoping I can find the right colours quickly and easily now... and not end up opening lots of bags full of fabrics you don't need at that time. I just hope my box is big enough to store all my pieces. I think I need to go in town to buy a new one for some others laying on my work desk (the Japanese and for landscape quilts) – I'd almost forgotten them.

Have a happy and crafty Wednesday,
xFranka

Well, that’s it for this week. I have to start ironing again and also take a few breaks to go sniffing around all of your desks. If you want to see more of desks, follow this WOYWW link.

Have a happy and crafty Wednesday,

Hi Franka I have the tidy up virus too! I am glad that paper doesn't need ironing to make it look neat and tidy. You have done a fab job - hope the next lot of ironing is broken up with lots of desk visits!

I love ironing and folding fabric, but I have to confess, I really never use it. I just like to look at it on my shelves. I use to sew like crazy when the kids were little, but now, I rarely touch the stuff. Only to sew on paper. dani22

You are so organized ... but what a lot of ironing ....I hate ironing xx#9

Franka, thank you for your nice comment on my kitten album. I shall take your advice and laugh everyday at their play, because soon they will be adult cats and sleep all day. You have such a fabric collection! I wish I could come across the sea to steal some of it. Charlotte #40.

As a newbie in the sewing department i think I have just died and gone to fabric heaven. What a lot of lovely stuff you have there - have you been collecting a long time?
Wonderful!

Some lovely fabrics there Franka and I can see why you need a bigger storage box. I was in a quilting shop yesterday (buying fabrics) and they were all laid out in colour combinations, all good enough to eat and hard to resist. Can see I will build up quite a collection.
Bit late getting round the desks this week as we were out all yesterday, enjoying the sunshine while it lasts.
