WOYWW 162 – Multi Medium Cards

After browsing the CraftStamper of July 2012 I knew one thing for sure – to try out the Multi Medium technique by Hels Sheridan for myself. The cards she made with this technique are gorgeous and I just got some new butterfly stamps to try it all out with.

Last Saturday I started with the Multi Medium part... because I never used this material on stamps I didn’t feel very comfortable with it. But after a few experiments I found out it’s so easy. So I made a couple of prints with this material and put them aside to dry. (Sorry I forgot to take some photos of this part – got caught up in the experiment, LOL)

But here you can see a picture of my desk in the next stage. At the front you’ll find the stamped and distressed background. Here you can also see the butterflies I want to use on this card too. In the background there's my Derwent Inktense Pencils first and after them all the distress colours I’ve used. A little to the right you can see a paper with pre-coloured butterflies. When I start colouring subjects which are more nature orientated I like to see how they look like in real life. Before colouring them I make some samples.

And here's the first complete finished card. It looks nearly the one in CS, but that’s normal for me. The first time round, I just want to concentrate on the technique. The only difference is that my butterflies are coloured with Derwent Inktense Pencils.

The next card I’ve made with the same technique but with different distress colours. Here I’ve used for the background Bundled Sage, Forest Moss, Tea Dye and Vintage Photo. The butterflies are also coloured with Inktense Pencils. I’ve finished this card with a hardboard label, a ribbon and some brads.

Have a happy and crafty Wednesday.

What stunning cards there Franka. You really have done a good job on them.
Thanks for your visit earlier. Those books you can see are my Tim Holtz and acrylic stamp albums! I make them to fit sheets of TH stamps and the clear pages Ranger do! They soon build up though don't they? They are almost themed!

Love the cards - I read the article & was a bit put off by Hels saying you have to be careful to clean quickly or it ruins your stamps - but yours look so lovely it might be worth the risk ! Thanks for stopping by earlier ! Ali #60
