WOYWW 108 – Fun and Games

There is a time to craft, and there is a time to get inspiration.
Welcome back everyone after my 4 weeks holiday and what an inspiring holiday it was... During the four weeks holiday we travelled  through Great Brittan and stopped in the Cotswolds, Lake District, Yorkshire Dales, met some friends in Sussex and, of course, I visit a craft show. The one in Doncaster where I met some lovely people from the Netherlands and picked up a lot of new ideas.

But that was holiday. Now we’re back home where I found a big surprise…
A few months ago I sent a postcard to CraftStamper, for the “Trade It – Fun and Games”. And now, in the July edition of CraftStamper I discover my card, published among the best eight. So now it’s the time to show you  pictures of my Fun and Games card.

Graphic 45 dessinpapier - Halloween in Wonderland.

Firstly  I looked through my papers, hopefully finding something to give me an idea... and yes… Graphic 45 dessin paper – Halloween in Wonderland. Oké, it’s not the right time of year, but all these cards gave me the inspiration to discover more about the story of Alice in Wonderland and the Queen of Hearts. I picked the chapter about The Queen's Croquet-Ground.

The colour scene has to be olive and rust, a perfect match with my G45 dessin paper. The background is distressed with the colours Tea Dye, Rusty Hinge, Peeled Paint and Vintage Photo. The text is stamped with Rusty Hinge.

The small cards, on the left, are real playing cards which I've scanned. I altered them with Vintage Photo and they represent the three gardeners (Two, Five and Seven) painting white roses red. In the pocket, on the right, is a card with the Queen of Hearts and a card with the text “Off with their heads”. The quote the Queen says to these three gardeners.

The pocket I made with some cardboard painted with some Gesso and also altered with Vintage Photo. The White Rabbit, on the pocket, tells us that the Queen of Hearts is arrived. At the top of the pocket you’ll find a golden crown, gold embossed. So everyone knows that there is something really important inside.
